Incredible Themed Rooms Coming to the Contemporary Resort!

It’s called the “Contemporary” but in many ways, it still looks more like what the style was back in the early 1970s when it was built.  To tweak this retro look a bit, Walt Disney Imagineering is reimagining the Contemporary Resort to include theming from The Incredibles!

Currently, the guest rooms on all nine floors in the tower are being completely refurbished in preparation for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary this October.

New custom artwork in guest rooms and along corridors will complement the resort’s architecture while putting the Supers’ powers of The Incredibles on display!

Also, the lobby will soon include a collection of modern art pieces as well as historical, behind-the-scenes photographs of Disney’s Contemporary Resort in development and under construction.

The Wave… of American Flavors restaurant, is also on the schedule for a reimagined dining experience to be completed in time for the big 50th-anniversary celebration.

😃 Let’s take a fun look back at some original video footage of when the Contemporary was built:

Beginning July 16, much of the first-floor lobby will be closed while it undergoes refurbishment and the front desk will temporarily relocate to the second floor of the resort.

When completed in late September, Contemporary’s lobby will feature an enhanced check-in experience offering an open, free-flowing layout with enhanced seating locations. Once the tower Guest rooms are complete, work will begin on the rooms inside the Garden Wing out on the shore of Bay Lake.

What are your thoughts on these new “Incredible” rooms?
