The Birth of Disney Fireworks

In the first year of Disneyland’s existence, fireworks at the park did not exist. Walt Disney and his team quickly realized that they had to come up with something that would make park guests stay in the park longer and into the evening. With an original price tag of 17 million in 1955 (equating to approximately a couple hundred million today), Walt gambled everything he had to build the park, and since every dollar was needed to recoup that investment, Disney had to come up with ideas to keep the dollars flowing in. The team knew that the longer guests … Continue reading The Birth of Disney Fireworks

Incredible Themed Rooms Coming to the Contemporary Resort!

It’s called the “Contemporary” but in many ways, it still looks more like what the style was back in the early 1970s when it was built.  To tweak this retro look a bit, Walt Disney Imagineering is reimagining the Contemporary Resort to include theming from The Incredibles! Currently, the guest rooms on all nine floors in the tower are being completely refurbished in preparation for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary this October. New custom artwork in guest rooms and along corridors will complement the resort’s architecture while putting the Supers’ powers of The Incredibles on display! Regal Eagle Smokehouse – “Life Changing” Food? . . . at least the burgers were

We visited it around lunchtime last week and wanted to give you our thoughts on this “quick-service” restaurant. First of all, when you get anywhere close to the American Pavilion, you can smell the custom smoker doing its thing out in front of the restaurant (a very smart ploy to get people to drop money on food) . . … Continue reading Regal Eagle Smokehouse – “Life Changing” Food? . . . at least the burgers were
